Vivian's cold gaze swept over Sloane's wronged, tearful face. Her voice stayed calm. "She can't even handle something as simple as serving coffee. Then, she should go."
Sloane's eyes reddened instantly, tears trembling on the verge of spilling.
Logan frowned and didn't nod right away.
Vivian's lips curved slightly. She cut her eyes toward the man beside her, all chill and edge. "What, you can't bear to let her go?"
Logan's eyes held back something darker. He spoke quietly, his tone devoid of emotion.
"Vivian, you used to say you wanted Whitfield Group to be the kind of place with a good atmosphere, somewhere people felt supported and comfortable. If you fire someone over one small mistake, won't everyone start coming to work on edge?"
He was using her own words to shut her down.
Vivian lifted her gaze to meet his, her eyes cold and unreadable.
"Didn't you just say she could leave anytime if I wasn't happy? Well, I'm not happy now."
