Chapter 116
"Sorry, I’ve already made plans for Saturday."
Julian turned her down politely.
Theresa Butler felt a pang of disappointment.
Truth be told, the moment he said that, it was like he’d drawn a line in the sand. She should’ve known their pleasant conversation earlier was just him being courteous.
But maybe it was because she understood that too clearly, she felt all the more unwilling to give up such a top-tier man.
So she swallowed her pride and said boldly, "No worries, Mr. Archer. I can be flexible. Just let me know when you’re free. Can we give it another shot?"
Julian’s smile dimmed a little.
He didn’t beat around the bush. "Miss Butler, you’re great, really. But we’re just not a match. I hope the dinner wasn’t too dull for you."
"I had a good time. I actually thought we had something going. I do like you."
She didn’t bother hiding it.
Julian replied, "I’m sorry."
She frowned slightly. "Can you at least tell me what you didn’t like about me? I honestly think I’m pretty okay."
Julian
