I accompanied him to the hospital, watching as he lay exhausted and weak on the sickbed. My heart ached unbearably, so I stubbornly lingered in the ward, unwilling to leave.
"Honey, let me stay and keep you company tonight. Maybe I should even move into the hospital with you."
He gave me a faint smile, his eyes brimming with tenderness. "Be good and go home."
Reluctantly, I held onto his hand, unwilling to let go.
