Third Person POV
Sara had barely settled inside the packhouse at Silver Crest when she ran headfirst into a wall: Bella. The corridor outside Eric’s room was heavily guarded. Soldiers stood rigid, an unspoken warning in their posture. No one was allowed in. Before Sara could bat her lashes or smile her way past them, Bella appeared from an adjoining room. Heavily pregnant, arms folded, spine rigid, eyes blazing with a certainty sharper than any blade.
“You heard them,” Bella hissed, stepping in front of the door. “He doesn’t want to see anyone. Or… are you planning to seduce them again?”
Sara slowed, smoothing invisible creases from her dress, her lips curling in a cool, deliberate smile. “Mind your tongue, Bella. That is not how you address your future sister-in-law,” she said, voice steady. “I’m going in to see Eric.”
Bella didn’t flinch. “In your dreams. Eric will never marry you again.”
