Elena’s POV
Bella didn’t hesitate. She stepped forward with a bright, confident smile, her voice cutting through the room. “Because there’s something waiting downstairs that none of you will want to miss,” she said smoothly. “Trust me, it’s far better than standing around here.”
That was all it took. Sara had disappeared. Bella and I moved aside as the Lunas suddenly stirred. Dresses swished, heels clicked, and one by one, they hurried toward the exit. I watched them go, stunned.
Bella leaned close to me, her lips curling into a knowing smile. “That’s how it works,” she murmured. “You don’t argue with women like them. You tempt them.”
I frowned. “I thought women with money and power wouldn’t care about little perks.”
She snorted softly. “Please. The more they have, the more they want. And don’t forget; these aren’t major-pack Lunas. Compared to you? They’re nobodies. You’re Eric’s partner. They should be the ones trying to impress you.”
