Chapter 9
Elena’s POV
I woke up slowly, lost and wrapped in a scent that didn’t belong to me.
The room was quiet. Soft light filtered through heavy curtains, lush walls painted in subtle and nude colours. Everything looked unfamiliar, but clean, peaceful… and expensive.
My heart jumped. Where the hell am I?
I sat up at once and realized I was wearing a silk robe…far too big for me. It slid off one shoulder, smooth and cool against my skin. Definitely not mine.
Panic crept in. How did I get here?
I pulled the robe tighter around myself and checked my body quickly. My arms. My legs. My thighs. There were no marks, no bruises and no soreness. Nothing between my thighs showed I'd been defiled. I let out a shaky breath I hadn’t realized I was holding.
I hadn’t been touched. But somehow, that only made the confusion settle deeper.
“Good you’re awake.”
His voice came from behind me; deep, calm and unmistakable.
