Chapter 166
NOAH
I drove straight to Stafford Park after Hannah ended the call.
The early morning air was still cool, and the park was quiet except for a few people walking their dogs along the path. A light breeze moved through the trees, carrying the fresh scent of grass.
Then my eyes caught a familiar golden-white figure lying on the ground while a little girl fed him dog treats.
Milo.
“You look so hungry,” Hannah was saying gently. “Just eat Mochi and Coco’s food first.
I’ll feed them again when we get home later.”
Milo happily ate the food Hannah offered him. A moment later, he suddenly barked in my direction. His ears perked up, and before I could even react, he ran straight toward me and pounced excitedly.
My face darkened as I grabbed Milo by the back of his neck.
“Who told you to run away?” I said sternly. “Do you know how long we’ve been searching for you?”
Out of all the places he could have gone, I never expected him to end up here.
