My stomach growled loudly, and Noah heard it too. My face flushed with embarrassment.
He smirked. “Let’s go,” he said, walking toward his car.
I blinked, confused.
“You told me on the phone you hadn’t eaten yet. Let’s go to Millie’s,” he explained.
I shook my head. “I’m good, really.”
Noah raised an eyebrow. “I’m hungry too. Plus, aren’t you treating me for helping you out today?”
He was right. I owed him a big favor tonight, and it only felt right to treat him as a way of showing my gratitude.
“Alright, fine. Let’s go,” I said, giving in, and climbed into his car.
“You should get the chicken noodle soup too,” Noah suggested as I was placing my order. “It’ll help warm you up before you dive into solid food, especially since you missed dinner and it’s already past midnight.”
I nodded and turned to the waiter. “And two chicken noodle soups, please.”
