I couldn’t believe I was hearing any of this from him.
This wasn’t the Noah I knew—or perhaps this was who he had always been beneath that cold, distant exterior. The aloofness, the restraint, the discipline… maybe it had all been a carefully maintained façade.
I never imagined he would act like this. Never imagined he would say something so shameless to me—knowing I was married and had a child.
I was completely stunned, my thoughts frozen in place.
“Olivia, the pipe’s still leaking a little. I’m going back to my place to get some tools,” Christian’s voice came from the bathroom, casual and unsuspecting.
The sound snapped me back to reality.
I shoved Noah instinctively and turned my head, trying to respond to Christian—but before I could move away, Noah caught my hand.
His grip tightened.
In one swift motion, he pressed me back against the wall, his body blocking me in. The air between us vanished. My back hit the cold surface, my breath knocked loose from my chest.
