Chapter 279 The Real Savior
"I didn't do anything, and I don't have any hidden intentions. You know exactly what you've done!" Irene accused as she pointed to a security camera mounted in the corner. "Raine, it looks like you've been away from home for too long. You don't even remember where the cameras are."
Raine's face drained of color as she glanced at the camera.
There was a camera there?
She had no idea.
Her stunned reaction said it all.
"Raine, did you frame Irene?" Alex asked in disappointment. "Why would you do that?"
"I…" Raine stammered. Her heartbeat quickened as she was unable to form a coherent excuse.
Then, Irene dropped a bombshell piece of news. "Because I was the one who saved you."
"What?"
Everyone froze.
Irene had saved Alex?
Alex stared at her in shock. Yet, for some reason, a strange calm washed over him. If Irene really was his savior, then the gray world he'd been trapped in suddenly didn't feel so hopeless anymore.
"You lying bitch! What are you talking about?" Raine exploded,
