A sharp pain shot through Nancy's wrist.
"Gideon, you're hurting me," she hissed, frowning.
Only then did Gideon finally snap back to his senses. He let go of her wrist, though his eyes never left her.
She drew in a deep breath. "At best, we're just friends now. I hope you understand your place."
