"Where are we headed?"
"You're actually gonna drive me there?" Alexander asked, clearly surprised. Ethan was the type who even worked through a fever, barely had time to breathe during work trips, and now he was roaming around with him? Alex couldn't wrap his head around it.
Ethan shot him a sideways glance, like: there's a third person in the car, who do you think I'm talking to? A ghost?
"You're not heading to the company today?"
"Already stopped by."
Ethan was never one to waste words. Getting more than a few sentences from him was like pulling teeth.
"Let's check out that fishing village up ahead."
Ethan glanced at the tiny cluster of houses in the distance, then started the car and drove toward it.
Alexander kept his eyes locked on that village. He'd been there more times than he could count. Every time, the answers were the same, but he just couldn't give up. No matter what, he'd come at least once a year.
