ELIZABETH'S POV
I stormed out of the pack house, feeling angry and hurt. Lance's rejection still lingered in my mind, and I couldn't believe he didn't trust me enough to help me with my child.
"Where are you going?" someone called out behind me. I knew whom it was. She was always looking out for me and someday, I hope to be able to appreciate the girl.
I turned to see Megan coming after me, "I don't know," I said, feeling frustrated. "Anywhere but here."
She nodded sympathetically. "I know how you feel," she said. "Sometimes, this pack can feel suffocating and men too and maybe life.”
I smiled wryly. "You have no idea," I said.
As we walked, I confided in her about my feelings towards Lance and the pack. She listened attentively, offering words of encouragement.
She sounded like she knee everything and I won’t be surprised but I wanted her to know how I feel so I left talking.
