ELIZABETH'S POV
I'd been living with Lance's pack for weeks, and it was clear they didn't trust me. I was a stranger, an outsider, and they didn't know what to make of me.
My little show of confidence when the dire wolves attacked did nothing to price my worth or my loyalty to them.
As I worked in the kitchen, I caught glimpses of the pack members, their eyes watching me with suspicion. I tried to ignore them, focusing on my tasks, but it was hard to shake the feeling that I didn't belong.
One day, as I was preparing dinner, I felt a familiar sensation creeping up on me. My heart racing, my breath catching in my throat. I knew what was coming, and I couldn't stop it.
Suddenly, I was overwhelmed, and my body began to shake. I stumbled, dropping the knife I was holding, and fell to the floor.
The pack members rushed to my side, concern etched on their faces. "Elizabeth, what's wrong?" one of them asked, trying to help me up.
