I stayed quiet, my cheeks flushing out of nowhere when I realized Jasper had flirted back with me.
He looked so put-together and serious, and I thought he was inexperienced, but it turned out he was quite the expert. How interesting.
I gave a small smirk and said flatly, "You're overthinking it."
With that, I set down the potato soup, got up from the table, and flopped onto the couch to watch TV.
Jasper seemed unfazed. He wiped up the potato soup I had spilled, cleaned the table, washed the dishes, and tidied up the kitchen before finally coming out.
"Can I use your bathroom?" he asked.
"Go ahead," I replied, not even glancing his way.
For some reason, his playful comment made me hesitant to look him in the eye. Maybe I secretly wanted him to stick around, and his words had gotten to me, leaving me uneasy.
