The research team of Oconnor Group took notes, waiting for his next words.
He paused and then said, "I'm going to sleep. No one should disturb me."
The crowd laughed kindly.
Nelson had not slept more than four hours a day for many days. The high-intensity work had him running nonstop; even a robot couldn't keep up.
He threw himself onto the soft bed, half his face buried in the pillow. He couldn't help but pick up his private phone, still no call from Callie.
The long-suppressed guilt and longing grew more intense.
He wondered how she was doing now.
