Callie watched as Mollie said something to Nelson, and then the man turned away, not coming over. He was suspicious, but it seemed Mollie had dispelled his doubts.
Once he left, Jaquan stretched his muscles. "Your friend is quite good to you."
Callie calmed herself, intending to leave but then stopped. "What does Maevelyn look like?"
Maevelyn looked a lot like her when they were kids. She wondered if that was still the case now that they were grown up.
When she asked this question, Jaquan paused noticeably and then showed a strange, meaningful expression. He looked away. "She's a beauty."
"That's not what I asked." Callie extended her hand. "Do you have a photo of her?"
Jaquan surely did. He always had first-hand information.
"Didn't you see her clearly just now?"
"No."
"I don't have a photo." Jaquan turned sideways. "Even though I've seen her, I can't exactly take photos of people secretly."
Callie sneered. "You have the vibe of someone who would take secret photos."
