I stared at my phone, fingers tightening around it as Alpha Enzo's words sank in.
Twenty years for Zack.
Just as he'd predicted.
*Finally some justice,* Keal growled with satisfaction inside me.
I wrestled with myself for a good minute before finally giving in. "Alright... I'll be in Cary on Saturday. We could grab lunch then... if you're free."
The last part came out awkward, even to my own ears.
The change in Alpha Enzo's tone was instant—like someone had flipped a happy switch. "Perfect! My friend just opened a new spot by the marina. The view's amazing. We should check it out." His excitement was so genuine it threw me off.
"Sure," I replied, fighting back a smile I didn't want him to hear. Weird feeling.

Twenty years. Zack would be forty-five when he got out.
Not ancient by werewolf standards, but definitely enough time to sit with what he'd done.
