Due to frostbite, both Blake and Harris spent a week recovering in the hospital. During that time, Vanessa remained by Blake's side and refused to leave him even for a moment. It wasn't until the day before their discharge that Vanessa found time to visit Harris in his room. Seeing how frail he looked, Vanessa felt a little guilty. "I didn't mean to save you last. It's just that… Blake was in a worse condition, so I had to prioritize him." It was the truth, and Harris couldn't say anything to that despite the pain in his heart. Looking at her calm expression, Harris was reminded of the time she and Waverly fell into the sea. When he tried to justify his actions back then, she had responded with the same tranquility. It only made his excuses feel all the more absurd now. Harris looked down to hide the pain in his eyes. Silence stretched between them until the sky turned dark. Vanessa finally stood and told him to get some rest before heading for the door. "Vanessa." Her hand pa
