Stepping out from the coffee shop, Giselle felt a bout of dizziness and had to lean against the wall for a moment to steady herself.
The sun was out today, and the sunlight that fell from the sky was so glaring that she squinted her eyes.
She used her hand to shield her face, and with her head lowered, Giselle descended the stairs at the entrance.
Harper's car was parked at the roadside, a white Volkswagen.
Giselle walked towards it, opened the car door and got in. After she did, Harper stepped on the accelerator and the car sped off. On the other side of the coffee shop, another car drove over and stopped by the roadside.
Maverick silently, his dark eyes piercing through the front glass of the car, followed the retreating white Volkswagen.
There was not much expression on his face as he lit a cigarette.
When Judd and the lawyer arrived, he asked, "Did she sign it?"
