David's face darkened. He sneered, his voice dripping with mockery.
"Lily isn't the type to fall for a spoiled playboy like you."
But to his shock, Lily slipped her arm through Jacob's and smiled faintly.
"Is that so?" she said coolly. David froze for a moment.
"Lily," he said through gritted teeth, his voice low but laced with authority. "Don't. Don't you dare encourage him. You're mine. Do you understand?"
Lily's smile remained, calm and controlled. "Oh? You mean because of that piece of paper we signed?"
She spoke lightly, letting the jab hang in the air. "You know, David, it doesn't actually mean you get to dictate everything I do. And don't forget—you have Marina now."
David's nostrils flared, a sharp exhale escaping him. "You can play games all you want, but don't think for a second that I won't put a stop to this. You are my wife, and don't you forget it."
