DOMINIC'S POV As I dropped Evelyn back into her room, she leaned into me, her delicate arms wrapping around my neck, her breath warm against my skin. Her body trembled slightly as if she were barely holding herself together. I had seen her like this before—fragile, vulnerable, as if she might shatter if I let go. I knew that I mattered to her the most. Before she disappeared, we had been together all the time. We made so many promises to each other, fell for each other.
