OLIVIA’S POV
After dropping the kids off at school, I drove straight home with my nerves coiled tightly in my stomach. Today could change everything. My mother’s fate still hung in the balance, but finally, there was a sliver of hope. I paced the living room like a caged wolf, glancing at the clock every other minute until I finally heard the sound of a vehicle pull into the driveway.
I also informed about Derek to James, and he was also working on finding out about that poison. maybe we can close this case once and for all.
I threw open the door just as Derek stepped out of his car, holding a slim black folder and a USB drive in his hand. His face was serious, but I could see the urgency in his eyes.
“You found something?” I asked before he even stepped inside.
He nodded once and came in, placing the folder down on the kitchen table. “I brought everything. The hacker did a full system trace—he recovered the deleted message and found call logs from that night. The message was not sent
