Chapter 505
Third Person's POV
"I'll close the window." Leo watched the rain drift in and rose, standing naked before the window.
Despite their recent passion, his heart felt colder and heavier than the rain.
"Don't stand there like that, you'll catch a cold."
Sunny, tucked under the covers, saw him staring blankly out the window and quickly warned him.
It was still spring, and the air was chilly, yet Leo seemed oblivious to the cold.
Suddenly, he pressed a hand to his forehead. A surge of pain welled up inside him, unbidden tears reddening his eyes.
Sunny slipped out of bed, threw on a coat, and fetched his robe, draping it over his broad shoulders.
The man spun around and crushed her in his arms, as if to meld her into his very being, to prevent her escape.
Sunny sensed the reluctant sorrow in his embrace—she felt the same ache.
Yet separation was inevitable.
"Sunny, wait for me. It won't be long..." Leo murmured into her ear, his jaw set with resolve.
