"You got into a fight?" Marcus asked, raising a brow.
"Yeah." Oliver didn't try to deny it and gave a slight nod.
Marcus shot him a long look, eyes narrowing a little. "Was it you who called your aunt?"
Oliver answered honestly, "No. It was the dean."
Marcus's expression cooled instantly. "I remember I'm listed as your guardian."
Oliver immediately got what he meant—uncle probably hadn't been told that the fight started because someone saw him messing around with computers and phones.
"I didn't want to bother your work," Oliver said calmly.
Marcus knew he was lying. He didn't call him out on it, though. Instead, he said in a steadier tone, "Do you know your aunt skipped work because of you?"
"My bad." Oliver simply took the blame and looked him straight in the eye. "Uncle, I swear, this won't happen again."
Marcus suddenly asked, "It was just a fight?"
"Yeah." Oliver nodded without hesitation.
"Why?"
"He insulted me. He called me a bastard. Said that I was just some unwanted kid." Oliv
