"Yes, just one," Elaine nodded, but her eyes stayed fixed on Fiona's table.
"Want something to drink?" the bartender asked again.
Elaine replied casually, "Anything's fine."
"How about trying our new special?" he suggested.
Elaine didn't object, just stayed quiet.
Soon, the bartender placed a freshly mixed cocktail in front of her.
It looked strong—most of these are—and Elaine, knowing her own limits, didn't take a sip. She didn't come here to get tipsy anyway. She was here to keep tabs on things.
