"I definitely underestimated their defense," Milton suddenly sighed. "This is getting interesting."
Elaine rolled her eyes, completely speechless. "Seriously? This is not the time for your little epiphanies."
Milton replied, calm as ever, "How about this—I'll bail out first. You find a way to get close to that computer and meet up with me."
Elaine didn't even get a chance to object—Milton had already hung up. If she didn't sneak into Marcus's office now, the company's entire network might stay down for good.
She knew she was partly responsible for this mess—at least half of it—so she really had no choice. Time to bite the bullet.
Meanwhile, Milton quickly pulled out from the system. The head of IT stood in front of Marcus, looking like he wanted to disappear. "Apologies, sir—they were just too fast. We lost them before we could catch a trace."
Marcus could barely keep it together. He slammed his fist down on the desk and barked, "I don't want excuses. Find them. Now."
"Yes, understood.
