Chapter 69 A Past That Lingers
Wesley Merritt quickly strode to the window, pulled back the curtain, and looked down.
"Huh? Where did he go?"
He had clearly seen a figure that looked exactly like Violet Leach flash past just now—how could it have vanished?
Wesley scanned the darkness once more, but still saw nothing.
"Could I have been mistaken?"
He rubbed his eyes. Probably just eye strain from too much gaming.
He drew the curtains shut, turned off the lights, and went to bed.
Violet Leach stepped out from behind a large tree and looked up at Wesley's room.
"Staying up late again—what a night owl," she muttered under her breath before walking away.
Soon, she arrived at the old villa in the back.
Over a decade ago, the driver responsible for the accident and the hired killers had all been locked up here.
They were kept in separate rooms, which made her job easier.
Violet first went to the driver's room, took out the hypnotic device she had prepared earlier, then nudged the man with her foot.
