"Yeah, right, just because I slipped into a dress," Luneth replies as she looks at herself in the mirror.
"This isn't about the dress or your face but just about you," I reply, and I can see her smile sheepishly. "I know you don't want to go to the event, and you'd give everything not to go," I say, and she nods. I like that she is being as real as she can be with me and is not hiding her feelings from me.
"I understand, but I will make it up to you," I said, and she pretended to be thinking.
"How? I am a big spender, so it might cost you all you have," she replied, and I nod.
"I am ready to give you all I have. "All you have to do is say the word," I say, and even though this is supposed to be some kind of meaningless back and forth between us, I am sure she has no idea that I am being serious with every word.
"Oh, really? Then when I am ready, I'll say the word."
The door in front of me opens up, and Marcus is standing in the doorway with a frown
