Maljore was awfully quiet after we had put Lucy behind bars. It was almost as if she had given up, but we all knew that she was restrategising, and that was the same thing we were doing.
"Mind if I join you for breakfast?" I look up to Marcus, cleanly dressed in a navy green suit and black pants. He stood by the doorway of the dining room.
"Well, you are here already; we can't turn you away, can we?" Drexon said, and even though I knew that it was their usual banter, I could not help but be grateful to Marcus. I have no idea what we would have been able to do without him.
"Drexon!" I say in a warning tone as I swat his hand away and turn to Marcus with a smile as I point to one of the empty chairs at the table. "Of course, come on in," I say, and he makes his way from the door to the seat in the chair I had shown to him.
"Aren't you going to say hello to Uncle Marcus?" I say to Aria, and she looks up to him, clinging to my side.
