"Breakfast is over," I say once the kids' plates are cleared. Rose had long stopped eating, claiming she was full, but instead of saying anything to fuel her, I just sat there and gently munched on the meal while helping Aria successfully finish her food.
"Finally!" She could not help but slip up. She cleared her throat and avoided everyone's eyes. Drexon got up and gave me a questioning look, and I hoped that my eyes told him that I had all of this under control. I could handle inside the house; all he should worry about was what was happening outside.
"Daddy is off to work," I say to the kids, and they hug him as usual before disappearing into their rooms. I walk him out of the room, and he looks at me.
"I got this," I say as I plant a kiss on his cheek.
"I know I am just..."
"Worried?" I ask, and he doesn't hesitate to nod. "Well, don't be; I got this," I say, more smug than Rose would ever be.
"Okay then, but call me if anything happens." I nod, and he walks off and then ret
