"I seriously underestimated how much work this would be," I tell Drexon as he helps me clean up after the girls who had been partying. They had gotten tired after and gone in to watch television, forgetting all about the party in a heartbeat, and soon their parents were showing up ready to take them home.
I know that I might be paranoid, but I see the way some of the moms look at me during pickup; it's almost as if they sent their children here so they could take a look at me and continue gossiping. There is no evidence, but I see it.
"Next time, I think maybe you'll take that into account before agreeing to her demands." His response is flat, and I roll my eyes.
"At least the kids had fun, and it is now a hundred percent certain that I am her favourite," I say with a gleeful expression. I can tell that he wants to argue, but he does not.
"You know the staff can clean this up, right?" he asked as he walked over to drop some of the party supplies into the big hamper.
