Maljore looked at me as if I had ruined all of her work. The table fell silent with her staring at me intensely. I wonder what she was trying to achieve by lying to my mom. I knew it was Melissa's party, but what was she doing here and at my table for that matter? This made no sense at all. What kind of sick game were they playing? Was Rose in on this? Did Tema try to double-cross us?
"She isn't?" Cidny asked, her eyes darting to Maljore. "But you said that..."
"Don't listen to any lies she spins; she almost had me killed and is actively trying to snatch my husband from me," I say, and then pause for a moment and then add as if I had just remembered. "And yes, she hurt my little girl as well," I add.
Maljore is a professional at being the bad person because even with all of the accusations I was throwing her way, she sat still as if we were casually talking about the weather. She frowns, her forehead crinkling slightly.
