Chapter 118 Turning the Tables
The conference room door opened soon after.
The department heads left in stiff silence. Tommy walked out last, snorting coldly as he passed Lila.
Only Wren and Lila remained.
"I'll set up an investigative team," Wren said reassuringly as he came to her side. "You don't need to worry about any of this. Focus on the trial and leave the rest to us."
He wouldn't let Lila suffer under his watch.
The chaos had clearly been orchestrated by someone. Wren needed to find the truth quickly to clear Lila's name and protect Gracewell's reputation.
Lila shook her head and lifted her chin. Her gaze was clear and determined as she said, "Thank you, Dr. Yardley. But I want to handle this myself."
She couldn't always hide under other people's protection—not Rhett's, nor Wren's. 
They might shield her once, but they couldn't do it forever. She wanted to uncover the truth on her own.
