Erin’s POV
I stared at Gavin with disbelief on my face.
I couldn’t believe he was asking me such questions. I had half a mind to tell him off; the other half wanted to walk away.
Honestly, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to say to him.
“I’m waiting,” Gavin said, leaning back in his chair and staring up at me with a stern expression on his face.
“That wolf called you a traitor before he died,” I said, recalling the events from the other day. “I wanted to know why he said that…”
“You think I lied to you?”
“No…” I said, lowering my gaze to the ground. I needed to appear weak to him because that’s what he sees me as. He would grow suspicious if I acted any other way. “But I think you know more than you are telling me.”
“That’s the definition of lying,” Gavin said, raising his brows at me. “When did you stop trusting me?”
“It’s been a long time since we’ve been friends.”
“That’s what we were? Friends?” Gavin asked; there was a ping of hurt in his voice.
