Chapter 4-2
I went to lunch with Ava distracted, but she still managed to cheer me up. We'd finished our food and parted ways shortly after, Ava reluctantly having to return to work and my wanting to go home. I'd texted Paula who reassured me that the men were escorted out of the building almost immediately, but I still didn't want to risk returning to the office just yet. I wanted to go home and barricade the door with Sophia, my plan being to work remotely for the rest of the day.

The wind was starting to pick up, a few drops of rain falling from the sky which made me pick up my pace. I wasn't wearing any waterproofs; my long tan coat and exposed black trousers doing very little to protect me from the elements. My feet were also quickly reaching the point of freezing since the heels I wore weren't particularly weatherproof.
