Evelyn's address led them to a suburban area on the outskirts of town. It was late at night, and it was hard to navigate the pitch-black roads, so it took them quite a while to find the location.
They eventually arrived at a nondescript hut made entirely of dirt, with a very simple roof made of a large pile of thatched straw. It looked quite dilapidated, as though it had seen better days.
There was a paper lantern outside the door, its faint light cutting through the darkness. The wind caused the lantern to sway, adding an eerie, cinematic touch to an otherwise terrifying sight.
Brad checked the address once more, and after confirming it was the right place, he instructed the driver to stop. The car door opened, and a bloated Jean stepped out, rushing eagerly toward the door.
She had been here before as a child and knew the place well. The moment she spotted the thatched house from afar, she knew that her mother had come to save her.
