#Chapter 292 – The Big Day
I’m barely awake the next morning when I hear the little knock at my door. I groan, feeling like I just fell asleep a moment ago –
But then I gasp, sitting up straight, as I remember that it’s my wedding day –
The knock comes again and I toss my blankets off me, scurrying to the door.
“Who goes there!?” I command, laughing, because if it’s Victor, I want to make sure his eyes are closed.
“It is Burton, madame,” Burton replies cheerfully.
“And me!” a little boy squeaks, and I pull the door quickly open to beam at Burton, a tray of breakfast in his hands, and Alvin next to him, his little sword already strapped to his side, holding his own very tiny tray with a cup of coffee on it.
I gasp, my hands going to my mouth. “You two,” I say, “are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen…”
Both laugh as I step aside to let them into my room. They move quickly to the bedside table and I shut the door behind them.
