Chapter 2878
After putting the karaoke mic aside, Zayne got to his feet before saying, “…Alright, let’s start the little game… Everyone, put your phones on the table. If any of your wives call you, then you may leave.”
Raising a slight brow, Jacob replied, “…I’m not even married yet-”
“Then just stay and observe,” interrupted Zayne, leaving Jacob slightly speechless. Why the hell was he even invited, then?!
Zivon himself, who usually headed home on his own without waiting for Xavia to call, was prompted to ask, “Why are we doing this again?”
“Indeed! And here I was expecting something fun!” grumbled Chace, prompting Zayne to chuckle before saying, “I just wanted to see whether I’d be the loser in the end, that’s all…”
…Wait… Was he having problems with his wife? Was this what it was all about?
Following a long sigh, Chace muttered, “…You’re only hurting yourself more by doing this, you know? After all, Bianca gets antsy whenever I come home late now…”
“Tiffany has gotten a lot clingier too, and I’m sure she’ll be demanding that I report where I am to her soon enough,” said Ian.
Upon hearing that, James added, “Sure, my relationship with Ana is still budding, but she still cares a fair bit about me.”
James himself said, “Well, I technically have a girlfriend, so whatever. Guess I’ll join in.”
Watching as Zivon himself smiled confidently, Zayne was prompted to reply, “…Glad to know you’re all having the time of your lives…”
Alas, despite their initial confidence, everyone was starting to get a little irked when midnight came and none of their phones had rung…
Eventually, Chace cleared his throat before awkwardly saying, “…My wife usually calls around one because she’s so understanding.”
Ian himself added, “Tiffany must be busy with the kids…”
As for James, he scratched the side of his nose while muttering, “…She probably just dozed off a bit too early.”
“Knowing her, she’s probably just plagued with work again,” said Jacob… and last but not least, Zivon replied, “Xav hasn’t called me because she knows that I’m with all of you, and also because she trusts me.”
Despite their attempts to explain the situation, the smiling Zayne was prompted to say, “Guess I’m not the only one, huh? Really, though, aren’t women odd? In the beginning, they’ll be all worried just from us standing next to other women… but as time goes on, they simply grow more indifferent toward us. Sure, you could call that trust, but don’t you think this is a bit too much? It’s already past midnight, and none of them seem to care.”
…True enough, there were times when their loved ones would ask where they were as early as ten at night… What on earth had happened…?
