“I’m already checked in. If there’s nothing else, I’ll head off,” Cassandra said as she gently pulled her arm back.
“Cassandra, let me apologize on her behalf,” Emma reached out, stopping her again. “She’s always been a bit too blunt.”
“It’s fine. Honestly, she wasn’t wrong,” Cassandra gave a casual shrug, flashing a faint smile.
You can shut someone up, but you can’t shut their thoughts off.
