Chapter 40

“What are you asking about his whereabouts for, hmm? Do you wish to track him down so that the two of you can discuss about Eliana’s ‘skills’? Aidan, oh, Aidan, you’ve really lost your mind over that darn woman, haven’t you…” Priscilla trailed off upon noticing the warning glare that Aidan was sending her - even though the latter was her nephew, she had to admit that he was intimidating and threatening when he was being serious. And so, Priscilla cleared her throat and tried to lighten the mood, “Anyway, and I don’t know where that man is - he was the one who’d come to me and asked if I wanted to buy some compromising material about Eliana. I thought that the pictures were pretty worthwhile, so I bought them. As for where he went, I have no idea.” Aidan curled his lips slightly as he seethed, “Does that mean that the person who sent that picture to my study...was you?” Priscilla chuckled haughtily before nodding in affirmation - “Yes, that’s right, it was me. You know, Aidan, I can crush Eliana should I want to - after all, I have so much compromising evidence against her. This is why you should know better than to mess around with me.” Aidan scoffed as he hurled the picture back onto the coffee table - “What makes you think that I care about her reputation?” he scorned, “You do know that I took her liver, don’t you? You can go ahead and publish these pictures if you please - but here’s the catch. If you dare to do so...I will not hesitate to make you pay.” Priscilla furrowed her brows at this, “You know that I’m your aunt, right? Would you actually dare to try and kill me?” Aidan snorted, “Of course I won’t - but you should know about how your husband has been working with the Niren Group for quite a while now. Do you really believe that his hands are clean? Do you think that I don’t know what has been going on? Well, I’ll let you know that I have the power to send you to rot in prison for God knows how long if I please…” Priscilla couldn’t help but shudder at how frightening Aidan was being - the latter, on the other hand, scoffed before taking a step back. “So, are you going to get out of here, or are you still going to insist on staying here to try and bargain with me?” Aidan asked cockily, “I suggest the latter for your sake - you won’t get anything out of me.” Priscilla felt her heart thumping nervously under her chest at how brutish her nephew was acting - she thought that she could gain the upperhand with Laura’s recent liver transplant such that she would be successful in ridding of Eliana. Alas, she was wrong. It was wrong of me to think that things would be that easy - I’ve made a big mistake. As such, Priscilla packed up her bag and hastily walked out of Aidan’s study without saying another word. She closed the door loudly behind her as soon as she was out of the room. Aidan stared seethingly at the picture on the coffee table for a moment before he spoke up, “Why isn’t Eliana back yet?” he asked in an icy voice. “Let me check, Second Young Master.” Robert replied respectfully. “Also, I want everyone out - no one can come in without my permission.” Aidan added. “Yes, Second Young Master,” Robert obliged - he paused and contemplated saying a few words to try and coax Aidan before ultimately deciding against it. He believed that it would only complicate things even more than they already are. … Priscilla bumped into Eliana when she reached the courtyard. Seeing the latter instantly reminded the former of the ordeal that she’d just went through with Aidan - as such, she angrily stormed over to the latter and stood in her way. Feeling someone blocking her, Eliana looked up to see Priscilla hovering above her - just before she could say anything, the latter raised her hand and slapped her hard across her face. “You filthy woman!” she swore at Eliana. Eliana scoffed internally - she has had quite enough of being treated like this. As such, she grabbed Priscilla’s wrist to stop her when the latter tried to hit her for a second time. Eliana told herself that she wouldn’t let anyone trample all over as though she was a doormat. Even though I’m no longer in the prominent and distinguished position that I used to be in...I still hold onto my last shred of pride and dignity. I won’t let anyone bully me just like that. Who do you think you are to treat me this way, Priscilla Nelson? “Miss Nelson, I’m warning you right now - don’t you push my buttons.” Eliana stated firmly. Priscilla scoffed, “A vile woman like you deserves to get slapped - you’re not deserving of any sort of respect at all.” She then tried to wring her hand free of Eliana’s grasp. As she tried to do so, Eliana scoffed and pulled Priscilla such that she fell onto the ground. The latter growled and tried to lunge at the former when Robert stepped in - “Miss Nelson, I must remind you that this is Blanchard Garden. I’m afraid that Second Young Master would take action against you should you try and do something to Miss Harvey.” Priscilla gritted her teeth as she pointed at Eliana, “Just you wait, you dirty woman.” She then turned and stormed off in a huff. “Thank you, Robert,” Eliana smiled graciously. “Miss Harvey…Second Young Master wants to see you,” Robert gulped, “I think he’s pretty mad right now…”
