Chapter 291
Alexander met Vivian’s dark, almond-shaped eyes but didn’t press her further.
He had a hunch — if he kept pushing, it wouldn’t end well for either of them.
Seeing he let it drop, Vivian finally opened the car door and got in.
Alexander followed, slid into the driver’s seat, and drove them back to the villa.
That night, again, Alexander had a nightmare.
It was one of those awful ones.
Familiar faces he hadn’t seen in ages returned, twisted with sinister grins and chilling voices that made his skin crawl. They tangled around him like ghosts with nowhere to go.
His body was soaked in cold sweat, limbs frozen stiff.
He wanted to fight it off, but it was like drowning — every struggle only dragged him deeper.
Vivian woke up choking—literally.
The moment his hand clamped around her throat, she jolted awake.
“Alexander!” she shouted.
But he didn’t hear her.
His eyes were shut tight, face pale and soaked in sweat, his brows drawn tight in agony. Hands didn’t loosen; they only clenched tighter.
