When Old Mr. Brooks finally gave in, Vivian let out a small smile.
“Thanks, Grandpa.”
Right was right, wrong was wrong. Just because Matthew Drake was his grandson didn’t mean she’d go easy on him.
She might spare his life, for the old man’s sake, but that didn’t mean he’d get away unscathed. She’d make sure he paid a price worse than death.
After they left the old estate, Alexander drove her back to their villa.
Vivian was lost in thought the entire way.
She was still spacing out by the time they got to their bedroom, even when Alexander ran her a bath and started undressing her.
“What’s on your mind?” he asked softly, kissing her forehead.
She looked at him for a long moment before finally saying, “I want to look into when Grace Drake first got sick.”
Michael Turner should’ve finished analyzing her blood by now. She was expecting the report tomorrow.
