Vivian Grant couldn’t care less what Joseph Brooks felt deep down.
Even if he figured out she was backing Vincent Reeves and that their whole father-son feud was her doing, she wouldn’t bat an eye.
They were enemies from the start—no use pretending otherwise.
Vivian and Alexander Brooks walked up to Old Mr. Brooks, setting the gift boxes aside.
"Grandpa, we just ran into Second Grandpa at the gate," Vivian said respectfully in front of the old man.
The smile that had just crept onto Old Mr. Brooks’s face faded a little. "Oh? I heard things haven’t been going great for him lately. Guess he’s here to ask for help."
Right as he finished, Joseph Brooks stepped into the garden.
"Brother!" he called out, his voice choked like he’d just taken a heavy blow.
Vivian stood off to the side with Alexander, watching Joseph go into his act with a faint, mocking smile.
"I heard both your sons got injured. What did the hospital say?" Old Mr. Brooks sighed and waved him over to sit.
