Chapter 391
Soon, Alexander Barron got the files George Lane had sent over to his inbox.
He skimmed through them during a break and realized that the company was running smoothly—way smoother than he expected, honestly. Everything had been sorted out perfectly by George.
After reading through everything, a rare smile tugged at the corners of Alexander’s mouth—he was clearly satisfied.
Meanwhile, on the other end of the video call, George was sitting there acting like he was walking on eggshells. Sure, he could tell the boss was in a decent mood, but that didn’t stop him from being nervous.
"Not bad," Alexander said, tossing out the rare compliment. George instantly relaxed a little and scratched the back of his head with a dumb grin. “Just doing my job, sir.”
Alexander leaned back and added casually, “George, you've been with me a long time. What do you think, should I give you a raise?”
George, who actually thought his current salary was already pretty good, wasn’t about to say no to more money.
