The moon outside was barely visible, and the only light in the room came from a wall lamp, casting dim shadows. Heavy velvet curtains hung low, shutting out the cold night air.
On the bed, Sabrina looked fragile and pale, her lips quivering slightly. Cassian glanced at her, then reached out to turn the AC up a few degrees.
James, already sweating through his shirt, gave him a look of utter disbelief. "Dude, can you not? There are living people in this room besides your wife. I'm cooking here."
Cassian shot him a cold glance, one that clearly said, "Cut the crap."
James pulled off his stethoscope, tugging at his collar with one hand while fanning himself, muttering, "Physically, she's fine. This fainting spell is probably from emotional overload. Hypnosis isn't exactly a light breeze on the mind... and pairing that with you forcibly altering her memories? Recipe for mental chaos, man."
