Celeste Harper let out a quiet sigh. "How would you even know?" she murmured under her breath.
The night breeze drifted softly. Ethan Shaw, breathing evenly now, held the person he cared for most in the world. It was the first time in a long while he'd slept this peacefully, convinced it was all just a dream.
By the time he woke up the next morning, daylight had already flooded the room.

He walked out of the bedroom, rubbing his temples. His shirt was wrinkled, his face tired but still sharp beneath the hangover fatigue. Every bone in his body ached slightly.
