Scarlett’s POV
I jolted awake.
The dream had felt far too real — especially the baby’s final accusation at Everett. It stung with a strange, painful clarity.
Outside, the sky had already brightened. I glanced at the clock — it was nine in the morning.
I rolled over, propped myself up on my elbows, and slowly sat up in bed. Nothing else bothered me, but the dream in which Everett and I interacted like a married couple… those scenes had been so warm and tender. Even now, after waking, that sweet, cozy feeling lingered in my chest, refusing to fade.
I raised a hand to my face — it felt slightly warm.
People say that what you think about during the day appears in your dreams at night.
Could this really reflect my innermost thoughts?
The more I thought about it, the more ashamed I felt.
