Everett’s POV:
I looked at her, wanting to advise her not to be soft-hearted, but ultimately kept my words to myself.
Perhaps I didn’t fully approve of Scarlett’s soft-heartedness, but I understood that every creator felt a certain kinship toward their peers.
Whatever Scarlett decided, I was willing to support her.
For everything else, I would keep a close eye on it.
The elevator reached the basement level. When the doors opened, the media reporters were already gone. Alex’s car was parked right next to the elevator.
He sat inside, window lowered, smoking.
Spotting Scarlett and me, he immediately stubbed out the cigarette, pushed open the door, and stepped out.
“So? Did you settle it?” he asked impatiently.
Scarlett and I walked over.
I opened the rear door for her. “Get in first. We’ll talk later.”
Those media reporters were relentless.
Scarlett bent down to get in. I looked at Alex.
He immediately understood and returned to the driver’s seat.
I slid in and closed the door.
