Eleanor’s POV
After I explained the situation, the doctor instructed the nurse to draw Scarlett’s blood for an urgent test.
The results came back: her fever was due to a viral infection.
“Based on the report, Miss Taylor’s condition is relatively stable,” the doctor said. “It’s a virus—nothing too serious for now. However, her tonsils are inflamed, so she may continue having fevers over the next few days. I recommend keeping her in the hospital for observation. Avoid antibiotics unless absolutely necessary. I’ll prescribe some IV fluids to help with energy and nutrition.”
Hearing this, I finally let out the breath I’d been holding.
“Thank you, Doctor. I really appreciate your help.”
“Don’t mention it. I’m just doing my job.”
I smiled faintly. “Oh, by the way—what should I call you?”
The man glanced at his watch. “Jones. Dr. Damian Jones.”
I looked at the badge pinned to his chest: Damian Jose, Internal Medicine, Head Physician.
“Hi, Dr. Jones. I’m Eleanor Smith.” I extended a hand with
